Q. Why does the world need another NGO reaching the children of the world? A. We acknowledge that there are many great non-governmental organizations providing relief for children. We thank God for them, and if they are in a given area and meeting needs effectively, we prefer to support their efforts rather than come in with our own program. Yet with 300 million children worldwide subjected to violence, exploitation and abuse, one million annually pulled into the sex trade, 1.6 million dying annually from simple diarrhea, 150 million calling the street "home," 16,000 dying daily from hunger and countless other reasons, we know it is right to give ourselves to this cause as well. May many more join the battle for these precious lives! Q. How do I know my money is being used wisely? A. This question is of major importance in a world filled with deceit, profiteering and selfishness—even within some faith-based organizations. With ROCK International, each worker is a volunteer. All are self-supporting; either by working secular jobs or by receiving funds from those who have chosen to support them. Even the directors of ROCK operate under this system, taking no salary. Donors can know that their money is directly blessing children, providing for them relief, opportunity and care. ROCK has adopted a conflict of interest policy to insure a system of accountability among those making decisions as to where the funds are to be invested. All gifts given to ROCK are invested in ROCK-Kids [Relief, Opportunity and Care for Kids], unless the gift is specifically designated for "ROCK-Resources" [Resources of Crucial Knowledge]. Gifts to ROCK-Resources are invested in radio broadcasts and/or in the publication and distribution of books and literature for the blessing of young and old alike. Q. How can I be directly involved with the activities of ROCK International? A. Check out our "Involvement" page. This will show various ways individuals, organizations, and corporations can get involved. |
