 In some nations, over twenty-five percent of all children will die before their fifth birthday simply due to lack of access to basic medical care, hygiene, prevention, environmental conditions, and safe water. Diarrhea alone claims nearly two million children's lives a year. Eighty percent of all these child deaths could be easily prevented. Approximately ninety percent of child deaths occur in the first year of life and one woman dies every minute due to pregnancy-related reasons.
At ROCKids, we are seeking to establish care centers for young/pregnant mothers where they can receive much-needed care and nutrition, while being educated on how to protect their children from disease, abuse, and. In addition, ROCKids programs train local workers to provide basic first response medicine to street kids and vulnerable children. The result is preserved lives and increased opportunity to share with many the message of eternal hope.
